I chose to read Maya Angelou's book, When The Caged Bird Sings, because the storyline sounded interesting. This was also a book that got mentioned a lot. I was interested what life was like growing up a black girl in Alabama. I hope to get a better understanding of her life.

I chose I Know Why The Caged Birds Sing by Maya Angelou. I chose this because it seem interesting of what it was like to grow up and a black girl with difficult times constantly happening to her.
